Ginsters

Ginsters has grown from a small Cornish pastry manufacturer into one of the best known food brands in the country through a continued investment in its people, quality and its brand and facilities.

Today, the Ginsters brand is worth £150 million at retail prices, enjoying growth significantly ahead of that of the market in which it operates. This growth has been supported by a significant investment in its bakery in Callington, Cornwall.

Topics Covered

Growing the brand The Ginsters brand has significantly outperformed the market in which it operates for a continued investment in the brand, in customer service, and product quality, and through the development of its staff. The day will demonstrate how Ginsters has made its strapline “Cornish through and through” come to life, and how it has developed its brand proposition.
Developing an industry-leading bakery Over the last two years Ginsters has transformed its Lynher Bakery in Callington, Cornwall; £16 million has been invested to develop capacity, add flexibility, reduce costs and improve product quality. The rebuilding has been achieved whilst sales have grown by 40 per cent in the last three years. The development of the bakery has been supported by the increased investment in staff through the Samworth Academy.

A pro-active policy of local sourcing has meant that many local businesses and processors have already benefited from Ginsters’ growth and have, in turn, contributed to improving the quality of the savoury pastry range on offer.
