BGB is a high precision electro-mechanical engineering Company. Based in Lincolnshire, UK, the Company employs 70 people and has a turnover of
8 million of which exports account for 90%.
BGB was established in 1976 as a manufacturer of carbon brush holders. The name 'BGB' was formed from the initials of the original partners' wives. The Company now exists as a one family, privately owned business.
In 1986 the business progressed into the production of electrical slip rings. Whilst BGB continues to supply both brush holders and slip rings as standard component parts, today’s core activity is the design and manufacture of specialised slip ring solutions.
The Company continues to develop slip ring technology in conjunction with global customers. Partnerships are formed through working closely with clients’ design engineers and having the operational flexibility to meet their requirements.

BGB host visits for members of other companies to see how team working, staff empowerment and continuous improvement function within the business. We share experiences of successful and failed ‘culture change’ so that applicable ideas can be selected for implementation.

Empowered Teamworking	Teams are organised by product & customer for maximum customer focus & are empowered to control; customer satisfaction, production control, Kaizen material, work-in-progress requirements, training, quality & maintenance. Staff have a major say in every Company policy decision.
Continuous improvement	A process mapping programme has been implemented to reduce operational wastage, while overall efficiency has been reflected in increased sales and profit margin.
Cellular Manufacturing	Dedicated cells, split by product type, have been created to remove unnecessary movement of materials & personnel.
