Originally employing 130 people, our trailblazing call centre at Uddingston, Lanarkshire now employs more than 800 people, handling an incredible ten million calls every year. Kwik-Fit offers a range of flexible working benefits including compressed hours, job share and home working, as well as the ability to buy extra holidays and a generous maternity package. An onsite concierge service for all staff, a crèche and comprehensive pensions have all helped secure the company a wide range of awards. Kwik-Fit believes that it can often be the smallest of details that make the difference between an employee's happy or unhappy state of mind at work. They have worked hard to make sure that they give their employees plenty of opportunities to make a difference. They hold in-house, six-monthly employee opinion surveys and have forums every week where employees can offer ideas to make the call centre a better place to work. Kwik-Fit operates an in-house training academy which focuses on developing skills and team-working. Providing this level of support for new and existing staff members has led to a retention rate substantially above the national average for call centres.
